To be considered for Foster Parent Certification with Benchmark Family Services
- You must be at least 21 years old.
Certification Process
- 1. State Police Check - To be completed by everyone in the household age 18 and over.
- 2. Child Abuse Registry Check - To be completed on all applicable household residents.
- 3. Employer - For each employed parent.
- 4. Safety Audit of the Home - To be completed with the Home Study by BFS staff.
- 5. References - To be obtained during training process.

- 2 Personal - May not be a relative or extended family member
- Adult Child - Required of all biological or adopted adult children
- 6. Pre-Service Training - To obtain information on total hours required as well as information regarding the training schedule.
- 7. First Aid, CPR and Blood-born Pathogens Training - If currently certified in any of these areas, submit copies of your certification card.
- 8. Medical Clearance - Must be obtained for all household residents.
